It\u2019s a known lawyers\u2019 tactic, specifically in civil litigation.\u00a0\u00a0When an individual or small group of people sues a big corporation, they call for \u201cdiscovery\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s to gain access to the information that the corporation possesses, some that might show their negligent actions.\u00a0\u00a0A court orders \u201call relevant material\u201d turned over to the plaintiff.\u00a0\u00a0And the corporation\u2019s lawyers fully obey the court\u2019s order.\u00a0\u00a0They deliver everything, every conceivable document which might relate to the case, and thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or millions in addition.\u00a0\u00a0The relevant documents are buried, \u201cneedles in a haystack\u201d in truckloads of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It requires a \u201csmall time\u201d lawyer to hire a whole bunch of assistants to comb through all of the documents.\u00a0\u00a0And that means money; money that the litigants simply might not have.\u00a0\u00a0It also leaves a lot of room for the \u201cneedle\u201d to remain undiscovered in the \u201chaystack\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In the non-fiction movie\u00a0Dark Waters\u00a0<\/em>about the lawsuit against the manufacturer of\u00a0\u00a0Teflon,\u00a0<\/em>a single lawyer (played by Mark Ruffalo) drags his big law firm, Taft, Stettinius and Hollister of Cincinnati, into a lawsuit against Dupont Chemical.\u00a0\u00a0Dupont\u2019s first move was to send truckloads of documents to overwhelm him.\u00a0\u00a0It took years and luck, to finally find the \u201cneedle” that brought DuPont down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We know all about truckloads of documents in the real world. We\u2019re seeing it right now, in the millions of pages released about the Epstein \u201cinvestigation\u201d. Even the Department of Justice of the United States, can\u2019t handle the \u201chaystack\u201d of information that Congress demanded released. Intentional or not (the John Wayne line as Big Jake<\/em>: \u201cYour fault, my fault, nobody\u2019s fault\u201d) the Department of Justice released the names, documentation, and even unclothed pictures of the victims, but managed to redact the names of almost all of the perpetrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And now, Attorney General Pam Bondi, the person who claimed to have the Epstein File on her desk, ready for release last April, claims that the \u201cother\u201d two and a half million pages don\u2019t have any important information in them. She\u2019s ordered her department NOT to release them. Instead, her Deputy, Todd Blanche, put out a list of hundreds of names \u201cmentioned\u201d in the Epstein files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sure, there\u2019s the expected names included:\u00a0\u00a0(former) Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and all of the rest we already knew about.\u00a0\u00a0And there\u2019s some unexpected names:\u00a0\u00a0Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin and Marilyn Monroe \u2013 somehow mentioned in email conversations.\u00a0\u00a0But there\u2019s no context, just the fact they \u201cappeared\u201d in the papers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s kind of like Blanche took the haystack, and tossed it around to make it even harder to search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The pressure is now on. Some Republicans, in the House and in the Senate, are crying foul. They want the other two and a half million pages out, and they want the names of the adults involved in abusing and trafficking, revealed. That was the intent of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law passed by Congress and signed by President Trump. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The EPSTEIN FILES will not go away. They didn\u2019t go away when the military invaded Venezuela. They didn\u2019t go away when ICE invaded Minneapolis. And they won\u2019t go away, even if Trump attacks Iran, or makes a deal in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Congressman Thomas Massie is a far-right wing conservative Republican who represents Northern Kentucky, from Ashland to the Louisville suburbs. He was MAGA through and through, but demands accountability for Epstein. This weekend, he uttered the magic words that will haunt Trump until the end of his term. Massie called his White House \u201cThe Epstein Administration\u201d, a nickname that will stick like glue until it all comes out, hay and needles. Democrats will make sure it does. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the end, it may not be the ICE atrocities, or the \u201ccost of eggs\u201d that prevents Trump and his minions from changing the course of American Democracy. And it may not even be the Democrats, or the brave protestors with their orange whistles. It might well be the \u201cTom Massie\u201d MAGA supporters, willing to take all the other Trump nonsense, but unwilling to support the \u201cEpstein Administration\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The reality may be this.\u00a0\u00a0Trump could put an end to it all by abandoning his friends, throwing his former party buddies to the wolves, and releasing all the documents.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m sure there are some advisors already telling him:\u00a0\u00a0get rid of Lutnick, Bannon and Musk.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Let them take the fall for their association with the convicted pedophile.\u00a0\u00a0Even the British royal family has done it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unless\u2026unless what’s left in those millions of papers is the story of a New York realty baron, high on his riches, his parties and his hedonistic desires.\u00a0\u00a0As long as the papers are sealed, the questions about the actions of Donald Trump will never end.\u00a0\u00a0The only reasonable conclusion is that what\u2019s in the hidden papers is more than the \u201cEpstein Administration\u201d can bear.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes, the crime really is worse than the cover-up. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Redacted Files<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
