I\u2019m doing my best.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m trying to let the Trump outrages, from Guantanamo to Kash Patel to halting cancer research; wash over me. It’s like diving under a five foot swell coming into the beach.\u00a0\u00a0But today, right now, he got me.\u00a0\u00a0Sixty-four Americans lost their lives last night in a helicopter\/plane crash in Washington, DC.\u00a0\u00a0The investigation is underway.\u00a0\u00a0Many of the bodies are still\u00a0\u00a0strapped in their seats in the ice-cold Potomac.\u00a0\u00a0The ultimate cause of the accident is still unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Except, of course, to President Donald \u201cF-kin\u2019\u201d Trump.\u00a0\u00a0He just spent ten minutes denigrating the Federal Aviation Administration, and blaming \u201cDEI\u201d hires for the accident.\u00a0\u00a0Trump spoke about mentally disabled controllers, and those with physical disabilities from paralysis to dwarfism.\u00a0\u00a0He somehow claimed it was Pete Buttigieg\u2019s fault, or Barack Obama\u2019s fault, or, of course, Joe Biden\u2019s fault.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made it clear that he blamed the Air Traffic Controller (whoever that person was) for the crash.\u00a0\u00a0And he made it sound like America has unqualified, handicapped and disabled controllers killing our aircraft passengers, pilots, crew members, and military personnel.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, after all of that reading of FAA hiring practices and the placing blame; Trump said, \u201cWell, we really don\u2019t know what happened\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new Transportation Secretary, the new Defense Secretary, and even JD Vance, Ohio\u2019s addition to the Vice Presidency; backed Trump\u2019s assertion.\u00a0\u00a0They all paid obeisance to the President: \u201cthank you for your leadership\u201d (may I have another??).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0And they all backed his \u201canalysis\u201d of the problem.\u00a0\u00a0None of them gave the final, \u201cWell we really don\u2019t know\u2026\u201d after their statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we now have a President doing his \u201clevel best\u201d to tell us what happened in the Washington accident. It\u2019s as if he has some expertise in Air Traffic Control \u2013 which he doesn\u2019t. It\u2019s as if he has some intelligence on this issue; which he doesn\u2019t. He\u2019s just \u201cspun\u201d this problem into another Trump \u201ctriumph\u201d of changing America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s despicable.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s disgusting.\u00a0\u00a0And it’s disrespectful to the living, and the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it\u2019s the new era of Trump: a tidal wave of idiocy, racism, and hate. This wave knocked me down; kicked the wind out of me; ground the sandy bottom into my face. But I will get to shore, and gather my wits, and head into the waves again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It reminds me:\u00a0\u00a0how much I hate what America is becoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
