Fox News Headlines (Thursday, October 18th<\/sup>)<\/p>\n Note:\u00a0 first mention of Khashgogi torture\/death \u2013 eighteen items down on webpage, behind cloud pattern that looks like eyes and man who fell into mine shaft and kills three rattlesnakes.<\/em><\/p>\n Trending on Facebook:\u00a0why care about Khashoggi when four Americans killed at Benghazi?<\/p>\n Democrat and Independent Friends who want to begin to change the Trump Administration:\u00a0 to use the hallowed expression of the Civil Rights movement, we need to keep \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d The prize:\u00a0 the mid-term election in less than three weeks, control of the House of Representatives and maybe the Senate, and a majority of the state governors.\u00a0There are lots of issues that distract us away from this goal \u2013 some by our own party members.<\/p>\n The issues that should energize Democrats and Independents to go to the polls:<\/p>\n Those Democrats and Independents that are motivated by what is going on in the Mueller Investigation are going to show up and vote.\u00a0 The don\u2019t need to be encouraged, and they don\u2019t need to hear talk of \u201cimpeachment.\u201d\u00a0Americans will be ready for that process if, and when, convincing evidence is presented to them.\u00a0 Until that time, it is premature and self-defeating to talk about it. Keep your \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d<\/p>\n There will be a robust competition for the Democratic Presidential Nomination in 2020, and that competition will certainly begin shortly.\u00a0 But for the next three weeks it\u2019s not about 2020, it\u2019s about Right NOW.\u00a0 Elizabeth Warren trying to resolve her Native American ancestry; Hillary Clinton trying to justify her husband\u2019s actions in light of the #MeToo era; Joe Biden trying to stay relevant, the \u201cSanders Wing versus the Clinton Wing:\u201d none of this is making it more likely that Democrats will gain control of the House and Senate.\u00a0 They need to stop and get their \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d<\/p>\n There will be distraction after distraction.\u00a0 Democrats will be called \u201cradicals\u201d and \u201cmobs\u201d; we will be threatened with \u201cArgentina\u201d and \u201cantifa\u201d as the results of Democratic control.\u00a0 And (can you believe it) now:\u00a0 THE CARAVAN is coming.\u00a0 The George Soros\/Nancy Pelozi Party is (supposedly) paying people to come from Central America to \u201cstorm\u201d our borders; the ARMY may be needed to protect us.<\/p>\n Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear:\u00a0that\u2019s what President Trump is selling his followers.\u00a0 Fear that Democrats might get some power, fear that they might shine a light on what the Trump Administration is doing on multiple fronts. \u00a0Be scared:\u00a0 so get out and vote for Trump.<\/p>\n Democrats are faced with a different problem.\u00a0 It\u2019s not about fear (though fear of what Trump might do next does motivate some.)\u00a0It\u2019s not complacency, it\u2019s more about \u201cgiving up.\u201d\u00a0 Democrats need to get their voters to believe that things can be different, they need to get their voters to vote for change, they need to get \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d<\/p>\n Nineteen days until the mid-term elections.\u00a0 The choices are actually pretty stark:\u00a0 fear or change, the last two years or a different future, a nation focused on helping the top 1% or one that works for everyone.\u00a0 Nineteen days until we can begin to change.\u00a0 Don\u2019t get distracted, don\u2019t get sucked into old arguments or old \u201cmemes\u201d created in a building in Russia.<\/p>\n \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\n
